Five Minutes (3)
Five minutes is not a long period of time. Recently I was at WASC in Casper. After sitting in various classrooms and workshops and listening to platforms being mercilessly shot down and rejected, I found myself physically and emotionally drained. I didn't know what to do. After shooting down various girls who admired me and wanted my number desperately, I found myself wanting to do one thing. That was a quick call to my girlfriend, who I really missed. I had only five minutes of free time during my dinner break before I had to go vote for the new State officers. So I waited and waited until her phone was on. I made sure she was done with ski practice. I knew she was going to the college fair that night. I got excited when I realized that the possibility of a quick five minute was some what possible.
I got excited and dialed the number. I sat there on the bench anxiously waiting for her to pick up. It felt like i had not seen her in forever. She picked up the phone. I asked her if she would like to chat for five minutes. She said she was busy doing homework and she was sorry. I told her it was only going to be for five minutes. She didn't even seem to care. She said bye and hung up on me. I sat there in disbelief. She wouldn't even sacrifice five minutes for her boyfriend.
Swim season starts soon for me. Her skiing started that day. This made me realize something that I have been hiding from myself. To keep my relationship alive during swim season is going to be nearly impossible. I sat their and almost started crying. My emotions plummeted. I hit rock bottom. My mood was extremely melancholy. I couldn't get over the fact that she wouldn't sacrifice five minutes for me. Is that really all to much to ask? She wouldn't give up five minutes out of two hours of studying. Well that shows what I mean to her... I think that is close to nothing...

Personal Narrative
What If
Jaws dropped and fear was expressed in the form of vulgar words. In seconds our raft was seven feet down. I assumed fetal position. My eyes glazed with fear while I glanced down at the chicken line. I was glad that our raft was equipped with this most elite and valuable piece of gear. This rope that lined the raft was meant for only "chickens" to grasp. I would rather lose my pride than lose my entire life. My hands clenched the line of rope forcefully. I looked up to see my imminent doom approach. It was a white darkness. A wave of white water several feet tall towered over me. A wall of water shook me and made my ancestor's tremble.
Bertha grasped the raft as a whole and brought it into her unforgiving bosom. Ice cold water from the Yampa River entered into my ears as if it were an invited guest. My dry suit's purpose seemed to be no more. It felt as if my body became a measly piece of laundry and tossed into a washer. Bertha violently shook me, but she could not pry my finger tips from the chicken line. Looking back, that chicken line became a life line for me. At one point I was in no control of my body. In this rush I wondered why was I being shaken so much and not just spit out of Bertha. I came to the verdict that this was God's way of washing me before I ascended into Heaven. The song November Rain by Guns 'n Roses began playing mentally in my head. My body was slowly rising.
The thunderous sounds of Hell's forge consumed my thoughts. I could hear once again, granted the sounds were not beautiful but that meant I was resurfacing on top of the water. My eyes shot open, yet I could not yet see anything. Air filled my once depleted lungs. I gasped. My life had been spared. Once the water cleared from my glasses I looked across from me. I peered and saw my companion trembling with fear.
"Lenny I love you!" I yelled.
"Nick I love you too!" Lenny shot back.
Just like before our eyes met. We then realized that we were not done with our journey. Bertha kept us in her bosom. We were surfing. She had not spat us out just yet. She wanted to have some fun with us. We had no choice. Lenny and I carefully crawled to each other for a hug of brotherly love. We had eluded death together, and now we were stuck surfing together until Bertha did not want to play with our semi naked bodies anymore.
This experience has changed my life in many ways. It has made me a more cautious person overall. It opened my eyes to a new perspective of life. It has made me realize that if my life were to become no more on any given day, I would be missed. It made me feel very blessed for the life that I have. The rest of the day on the river made me sit back and think. I played the “what if” game for hours. I thought about what if that event had gone south. It made me realize that I am not an invincible person and that I could die at any given moment.
A mental movie of my course instructor’s desperately swimming through rapids to retrieve my body just to find out I was dead soon started playing in my head. In my mental movie they then tossed my lifeless body onto the oar rig and finished the rapids. They called from the satellite phone at the closet place they could. Within hours my body would be on a helicopter flying home to my parents so they could bury their own child. It gave me the chills. It opened my eyes to something new. I did not want to die. I did not want to put my parents burying their own child. That is not right. Ultimately this experience has changed my life…

The Chronicles of Spanish: 2
No crap, there I was swimming through Soul Land at Hell's Half Mile. The consistency of the Endoplasmic Reticulum in Soul Land was hard to swim through. My soul was not yet adapted to Soul Land. If only I could finish my homework and conjure a portal from the Nether and have my homework teleported to Spanish class then I could maybe have a chance to return to my physical body to help come up with an immunity for THE BURNINATOR'S death glares.
A brilliant idea came to me in a dream while in soul land. The idea was to conjure up my Spanish homework from the Nether and complete it. Half credit is not so bad. You can always make it up by conjuguemos. I explored soul land. I slayed a plethora of succubi with a myriad of weapons. The succubi held the potions of mana that I needed so I could conjure up my homework assignment.
Once i retrieved my potions of mana I killed an extra 82 succubi just for sport. Slaying one was epically satisfying because she bestowed the name of Autosy upon herself. She was a level 80 elite succubi. In the end I slayed her by taking up my raygunblaster version 2832.1.1a. and obliterating her. ( Note: The raygunblaster version 2832.1.1b is substantially better.) I then took her soul. I needed it to conjure my portal.
I sat down on the pinnacle of Hell's Half Mile and conjured a desk. I conjugated all of "Un accidente y Un problem de Robo" (Note: Imperfect is dumb) I then took out the soul of Autosy. I kept it in a bottle of Gatorade. ( Note: The flavor was Gatorade rain: strawberry kiwi to be exact. It was delicious.) I then created the portal and stuck the soul of Autosy in the middle. A raging storm formed. I then folded up my homework and made it into a paper airplane. I then aimed it into the portal and threw it. (Note: It took about 27 tries before it was a perfect throw.) The portal consumed the piece of homework. I then knew that I had to wait until it was graded before I would be transported back to Earth.
Slaying succubi is the greatest sport ever invented. (Note: Swimming is actually because the sport of slaying succubi does not exist) I was in the middle of slaying one when the sun in Soul Land turned into a black hole. It sucked me in. It would a matter of minutes in this void before I would return to Earth... (Note: This is much like trying to activate a cell phone)

The Chronicles of Spanish: 1
Spanish class... I am enrolled technically in Spanish III. (Note this is not Spanish I.) But really this class has a secret name of TROGDOR BURNINATING THE PEASANTS! THE BURNINATOR has taken vital pieces of my soul and sold them to the devil for Saron's eye which can give fatal death glares from Hell. However, I am slowly recovering. JD and I are searching across the world in search for an immunity for her death glares. We had homework due yesterday, I forgot to complete this task in which Spurlock the burninator bestowed upon me. I knew what was coming for me. I hid my soul in a horcruxs. (These are things from Harry Potter) I chose to use a simply pixy stick as my horcrux. She then stood up and stared me straight in the eye. She looked past my physically body here on earth. She searched everything looking for my soul. She could not find it. She simply just disposed of my body by burninating it. Perhaps Kara and the rest of my Spanish class attended my funeral. My soul was still alive. My horcrux was not yet destroyed. JD being my faithful son is now searching the entire world and all of its possessions to find it...

18th Century
While searching the extensive internet I stumbled upon some rather interesting information. I went to this one website and found a timeline of writters during that time period. As I very well expected to find free white male after free white male I saw a few women here and there. Someone actually took the time to reconize them. I was shocked. The way society treated women back in that day was harsh. I am suprised that they recieved some recongition. The same for blacks and people of other orgin then anglo-saxon. There was actually some content from these other author's who were scroned at just for being alive at the time.
Most famous works during the 18th century come from the American Revolution. Suprising? I think not. That was the highlight of the 18th centruy. It is like watching a long boring movie just for the epic climax. It was the climax of the time so one could expect that some of the most famous pieces of writting came from then.
Another thing that I found very suprising was the fact that little articles in papers were given credit. During the 18th century people fed off of reading little articles and pamphlets. In present day people are not remembered because they worte some news paper article. During the 18th century however, Common Sense and other pieces of work were major turning points in history and changed the land that we call home.

Technology in the classroom
Technology in the classroom. This has been a heated subject with the rise of technology in everyday life. It has both a myriad of positives and in my opinion one big negative.
Organization, time saving, communication are just a few of the positives of technology in the class room. Using a plethora of on line programs such as google calendar people are able to organize themselves while on line. This can drastically help a student in an advanced class. Once they have learned to organize their life to fit their schedule they can then just get the work that needs to be done finished. This will ultimately increase efficiency for that student alone. Efficiency leads to better work done faster. That means more time is saved and this results in net total of hours upon hours being saved; this term is known as time saving.
Communication; this term has changed drastically different then what it does now. It used to be people talking to each other face to face. In our constantly growing reliance on technology we have begun to use technology as a way of communication. Texting, phone calls, instant messenger, email and other things that are technology based ways that our society has made into forms of communication. It's the way of the future and times are changing.
The big elephant in the room that I have with technology is the ever growing reliance on it. We as an entire world are becoming more and more dependent on this thing that used to be a delicacy among the world. We take it for granted most of the time. When internet is down for a period of five minutes or so people will get very upset. It is not the end of the world but it is treated as if it is. Dead zones in the empty abyss of Wyoming are treated like holes to Hell. They ruin peoples lives when really they should not.
In a perfect world, we should be able to find a happy medium with technology in the classroom. When we have then we have hit the bulls-eye and we have won the grand prize. An ever building reliance on it is the one fear I have of technology in the classroom.
